After the boat ride experience on the Sea of Galilee, we headed to the Man in the Galilee Museum just beside the docking area. The museum, officially called Yigal Alon Museum, houses the 2000 years old boat believed to have been used during the time of Jesus.
The boat is now a permanent display in the museum. It is mainly made up of 12 different kinds of woods patched together. The trees of these woods still grow abundantly in the area today.
The boat was discovered during a drought in 1986 and though there is no direct evidence linking the boat to Jesus, faithful believe that boat is a visual and powerful representation of Jesus and His disciples who were fishermen.
The museum also has a video presentation of how the boat was discovered and restored as well as documentary about this mysterious wooden boat.
