Enchanted River? By what reason is it called Enchanted River? According to stories passed from generation to generation, the river was once a sanctuary of “enkantos” when the area was still a dense forest. That was long, long, long time ago. Blame illegal logging or thank illegal logging, the river which was once feared because it is enchanted is now a highly sought-after destination in Mindanao! The Hinatuan Enchanted River located in Barangay Talisay, some 14 kilometers from the town center, prides itself with crystal clear blue waters and a cool and soothing environment – in the early morning that is, when it is not yet crowded with people.
The Hinatuan Enchanted River is listed among the “100 Places To See Before You Die,” “Amazing Places You Didn’t Know Exist” and its one of Mindanao’s top tourist destination.
I am still finalizing the Hinatuan Enchanted River Travel Guide so in the mean time, here are some photos of one of the best places to see in the Philippines this summer season or any season for that matter.
TRAVEL TIP
Enchanted River can be visited together with Tinuy-an Falls and Britania Group of Islets in 1 day.
