21 Most Influential Travel Bloggers of 2012

First, don’t freakout. This is my personal list.

Second, read on.

Lastly, don’t let them know about this.

********

I am not really a traveler. I am just starting to get my way on the road and I am very fortunate to have come across the works (and life) of people I haven’t met but I admire so much.

In alphabetical order, the following is my personal list of 21 Pinoy Travel Bloggers (PTB) that have influenced me to get my backpack and slippers on, to find the road less paved, to get lost and lost and lost again and to draw my own travel map.

********

Albino Chua of http://wanderme.wordpress.com. I love the way he narrates his stories, the simplicity of his language and the clarity of his style. I love his photos without watermarks. I love the places he has visited. He really is a traveler of the unfamiliar but truly awesome places.

********

Angel Juarez of http://lakwatsero.com. He is a professional blogger, no doubt. He writes well, takes photos perfectly, gives guides correctly and presents them in his blog effortlessly. He is just admirable!

********

Antonio Caranzza of http://www.pusangkalye.net. I have come across his blog because of promotions and advertisements. His blog contains his experiences (reviews) on various hotels, restaurants, events, movie premiers, etc. He is one guy I admire because he makes money out of blogging. And not so importantly, he looks like an ‘artista’.

********

Chino of http://www.juanderfulpinoy.com. He is young, adventurous, out-of-the-box and a good writer and photographer. I like the way he presents his travel stories. I wish I have started traveling at his age.

********

Chyng Reyes of http://chyngreyes.com. I have come across her blog because of the intriguing phrase ‘no spam, no virus, no kiddin’. I love the way she narrates and presents photos. There are so many stories in her photos with the ‘not-so-wordy’ presentation she uses.

********

Dennis of http://lovemindanao.blogspot.com. I think this guy is a natural born writer and traveler. I just love his wit, his advocacies and his stories. His blog is full of candid photos and heart warming stories.

********

Ding Fuellos http://www.thepinoyexplorer.com. He is the real ‘pinoyexplorer’ and not the guy on TV. I am always inspired by his photos and stories. I think he really is a serious guy, an organized traveler and a passionate soul.

********

Dong Ho of http://www.escapeislands.com. This guy is the only one I have met in my list. His blog is mostly about Mindanao where he is from but he travels a lot outside Mindanao as well. I love his passion to promote Mindanao and his dedication to explore the mountains and his fine taste of beaches.  He has set standards for me to follow. Everything about him is just perfect.

********

Enrico Dee of http://www.byahilo.com. Hands-down, this guy is the Festival King! I love his stories and photos about Philippine Festivals and Pinoy foods. I bet he knows, with eyes closed, schedules of fiestas and where to eat good food!  He is just fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!

*******

Ferdz Decena of http://ironwulf.net. He is the standard of everything that is travel and photography. His blog is one of the first I have come across with and I was really inspired to see and experience the places he has been. His photos are just awesome and really tell million stories. He is the man!

********

Gael Hilotin of http://thepinaysolobackpacker.com. She is an award-wining and an adventurous lady.  Her stories are for the books. She writes well and presents amazing photos. Though I heard she really doesn’t go solo in some of her travels, still I admire how passionate, how exploratory, how adventurous, how trendy and how pioneering she is. I really think she is awesome.

********

Gay Mitra-Emami of http://pinaytraveljunkie.com.  She is perhaps one of the most traveled person in my list. I love her style of traveling and her way of telling stories. I love seeing her family in her travel pictures. I love the places she has been. And Oh, how I love her travel in Mongolia!

********

Ivan Henares of http://ivanhenares.com. He is an elite, A+, prime and pioneering travel blogger. I think he is also one of the most traveled guy in PTB. Everybody knows him and his blog.  Actually, his blog is a library!

********

Jojo Ayson of http://lakwatsero.me.  Define lakwatsero and he is. I love all his travels and he has a lot. Name a place in your bucket list and he has been there. Name a dare-devil act and he has done it. He is simply amazing and beyond compare. How I love his skydiving adventure! Iba talaga cya!

********

Josiah Sicad of http://www.lakas.com.ph.  At first I thought he is just another travel blogger but shame on me he is not! His passion to travel is undeniable. His travel stories are incomparable. He even has a free ebook! He is someone I really admire because of his honest assessment of the places he has been and the very generous travel tips he always gives.  Iba ang Lakas nya!

********

Nina Fuentes of http://justwandering.org.  I have come across her blog when I was researching about visas going to South Korea.  When I need to know more about Myanmar visa, her blog helped me. Then when I needed information about getting a US visa, again her blog was there. Her blog is very informative not only about visas but about traveling as well. I just love the way she writes and explains. Very clear and candid. She is one smart lady that I admire.

********

Olan Fernandez Emboscado of http://www.thetravelteller.com. I call him “ang salarin.” When I started awesome #philippines80, I have not come across his blog. About a month after I started my journey, I bumped into his blog – thetravelteller. I thought then that he is a bank teller who travels. Haha. I got so engrossed with his blog that I had a sudden change of mind about my travel plans. He is the single most influential blogger why I decided to visit Mindanao first rather than Luzon and Visayas. His blog was my bible when I was doing my Mindanao segment. He has influenced me alot to love Mindanao. His blog is like a drug that induces me to see and explore Mindanao.  And I wasn’t wrong.  He is the true, genuine and unparalleled Ambassador of Tourism in Mindanao.

*******

Plif Damon of http://flipnomad.com. He is everybody’s favorite. I haven’t met any traveler who haven’t seen his blog and who hasn’t loved it with so much gusto. I am one of the super fans of this great travel blogger. His collection of travel stories and travel photos are just exceptional. The simplicity of his travel is endearing. The eloquency of his writing style is unassuming. And the power of his blog is earthshaking! His blog is one of my major references and inspirations when I travel (and even when I am not on the road).  But hey, no one knows who he really is. Flip, magpakilala ka naman dyan!

********

Upper Viceo of http://www.offbeatwanders.com. I love the way she writes and tells her stories.  I love her travel tips and her smart ideas. I love her photos without water marks and captions.  I love her wandering soul.

********

Violy Vallester of http://www.vivisrandomramblings.com.  She is a world traveler with style, finesse and a fine choice of destination. She has been to alot of places and her stories and photos are just inspiring.  Her writing style is clear, short, simple and moving. I really get hooked  reading her blog and appreciating her stories. I admire her wit, her adventures, her poetry and everything I see in her blog.

********

Yoshke Dimen of http://www.thepoortraveler.net.  He is not the poor last in the list. I love his writing style and his vivid photos.  The way he tells his story is simple and without any complexity. I admire the fact that he still find time to travel despite his work.  I seldom see new post from him but I just love his blog!

********

Why 21? Honestly, there should be more but they are the ones that come to mind easily. So pardon me if my list does not contain the other awesome Pinoy Travel Bloggers.

    • I create a cmonemt whenever I appreciate a post on a site or if I have something to valuable to contribute to the discussion. Usually it’s caused by the sincerness displayed in the article I browsed. And after this post I Explore | I WILL EXPLORE. I was actually moved enough to leave a cmonemta response I actually do have a few questions for you if it’s okay. Is it just me or do some of these cmonemts come across like they are left by brain dead individuals? And, if you are posting at other online social sites, I would like to follow everything new you have to post. Would you list every one of your shared pages like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?

  2. Salamat nik , katuwa naman itong post mo. let’s keep on exploring and promote the beautiful Philippines (bias ako sa Mindanao-lol -sana walang magalit).kudos and more power to you 😀
