This side of La Union is frequented by local and foreign surfing enthusiasts because of its waves. Many say that this surfing site is as good as that of Baler in Aurora. For the first timers, local surfing instructors are available for professional services. Surf boards are likewise available for rent.

HOW TO GET TO LA UNION’S SURFING SITE
From Manila, take any of the following buses, Dominion Bus Lines, Philippine Rabbit, Partas, Fariñas, Maria de Leon, Victory Liner, Florida, Genesis and Viron and get off in Urbiztondo and not in San Juan Town Proper. Just tell the bus driver that you will get off in Urbiztondo, San Juan. Travel time is 5-6 hours. From there, you can take tricycles or just walk to look for your accommodation or go straight to the beach on your left hand side.
