I booked here during the duration of my stay in Yangon. I paid for a single room but I was provided a 2 bedroom suite. The room is relatively big and is carpeted. It has a mini bar, telephone, television (not flat screen) and the normal bathroom stuff.
Breakfast was so-so and food selection is limited. The restaurant is not as clean. I think they need to do something about it. True to its name, Central Hotel Yangon is centrally located and within walking distance to some known tourist spots. My room costs 50usd per night but they have increased their rates now as reflected in their website. As in the entire country of Myanmar, credit cards and atm cards are thing of the future. Hence, they are entirely useless in this country.
To get to the hotel, take a cab from the airport which could costs you 10usd. I am not sure how to get to the hotel from the airport using public bus.
This is how I rate the hotel:
|Cleanliness of Room||4 stars|
|Cleanliness of Lobby||3 stars|
|Cleanliness of Restaurant||2 stars|
|Cleanliness of other common areas||3 stars|
|Room amenities||4 stars|
|Wifi Connection||2 stars|
|Business Center||2 stars|
|Check in/out procedures||4 stars|
|Reservation system||4 stars|
The hotel is a good choice for first time travelers in Yangon because it is relatively inexpensive.
