This is Christ the King Cathedral of the Diocese of Tagum. It is regarded as Mindanao’s biggest cathedral. It sits on a 2-hectare lot and was constructed in 12 years in time for the 25th anniversary of the Diocese in 2005. The Christ the King Cathedral is also regarded as the the biggest modern day cathedral in the country (not to be confused with Taal Basilica as the biggest church in Asia) and home of the biggest and longest rosary in the world. The giant rosary is 150 meters long and is made from iron woods locally known as magcono with beads weighing about 35 kilograms each.
How to Get to Christ the King Cathedral In Tagum City
The cathedral is located along Gonzales Avenue and Sobrecary Street Tagum City. It is 53 kilometres north of Davao City. To get there, take a bus bound for Tagum City. Buses operate 24 hours a day.
