Roadtrips of A Filipino Solo Traveler Around the Philippines and the World!
To tourists, this place is called Baywalk. To locals, this place is called Rimpulas.
Rimpulas (correctly spelled supposedly as Rempeolas) has evolved from a garbage dumping site into a beautiful baywalk it is today. It has become a favorite hang out among locals to unwind, relax and enjoy the view of the sea, the sun and the imposing Mt Bulusan across the bay. It is also a favorite dating place of young locals. There are several stalls and food carts in the area serving snacks of all sorts. Since this is a fishing village and a small port, fresh catch of the day especially sea shells are sold just anywhere else at any time of the day. Rumors has it that the local government unit of Sorsogon City will transform this place into ala-Roxas Boulevard set-up in the near future. Let us wait and see.
HOW TO GET TO SORSOGON BAYWALK
To get to Sorsogon Baywalk, head towards the Central Elementary School until you reach the small fishing port. It is about 7 minute walk from the Cathedral.
PINOY ON THE ROAD STYLE OF TRAVELING
I visited Sorsogon City Baywalk during my walking tour around the city. I did not need any local guide nor motorbike to get around. I visited the place twice, early morning and late in the afternoon.
MY PERSONAL BIAS
Visit the place if you are not busy or there is nothing left for you do to.
